Thrashing straight out of Amherst, Massachusetts are future stars of grunge; California X, with their debut double A side 7″- Mummy/Sucker, released only yesterday. Having produced the album with Justin Pizzoferrato, better known for his work with Sonic Youth and Dinosaur Jr, you can understand how this young band’s sound has developed into the epic grit it has become. With their first big show at this year’s SXSW festival, we might just be in the presence of one of the biggest new acts of 2012.
